CSIP and NIMHE recommend that the course costs no more than £150 per participant with a maximum number of 15. There are some exceptions to this, for instance if the instructor is asked to organise a course in an expensive venue. However in that scenario the extra cost is merely meant to cover the additional expenses.
As a small, independant provider of the training Bill is able be very flexible. Under normal circumstances he asks the organisers of a course to provide the venue, which needs to be no more than a reasonably sized room with a white wall or screen for projection and power for laptop and projector.
This means that his normal price for the course comes in at a total of £825, which based on an attendance of 15 comes to £50 per head plus £5 each to cover the price of the training manual and certification.
Individuals wanting to attend a course are directed to the organisers to fill any empty places.
This represents considerable value for money for a 12 hour course, particularly one certificated by the Department of Health
Obviously there may be some additional expenses for travelling beyond a certain distance and to cover the costs of an overnight stay but these are always kept to a minimum. If you are represent an organisation outside of the North East and are interested in organising a Mental Health First Aid course then please contact Bill for a price.
